We all have email addresses. We use them for various purposes. Some use them for bad. But many of us use email addresses for good purposes to carry out our day to day life. There are some factors you must consider when you use your email addresses (free or paid email services). You might have given your email address to various websites, forums, blogs, etc. By doing this you expose your email address to the public. Anyone can use it for any purpose then. In this post I wish to explain you about the consequences that can happen if you do so without having a thought too much.

First thing is the using your email address for scams by cyber pirates (I prefer to call them like that :-)). I have experienced this and I have put posts regarding these scams before using one of my real experiences. These cyber pirates are searching the internet for email addresses every day. They find those email addresses mainly from freely available sources like forums and blogs. If you have added your email address in those, you might have received these scam emails already and you also might have get caught and lost money. I recommend you to read my posts on the category “Scams” to get a good understanding about these scam emails. In a nutshell, you’ll receive these types of emails asking your help to transfer a large amount of money and indicating that you will be paid a portion of that money.

Next thing is get caught into trouble by making unseen friends or lovers. After some email exchanges, many people fall in love or in a friendship even without seeing or knowing the person at the other end. These good and honest feelings of yours are can be used by various underworld people like drug dealers. If you trust them without finding out more details, the chance of getting into trouble is higher. You might contact a person that you know. But there is a chance of the real person contacting you might be another one. Therefore you must find about the person who is writing emails to you. The best way is having a chat with a web cam. Then at least you can see that person. Unless you are fully satisfied with that person’s behavior, never take actions even that person talk to you with friendly and enchanting words.

The last thing is receiving various unwanted emails as spam. This will become a headache if you receive them hundreds per day. And sometimes you will buy various products which are not needed by reading those emails. This will definitely waste your hardly earned money.

If you think twice before giving your email address in public, you will be able to keep away from those troubles. I hope that you will think more about before publishing your email address in public.

What do you think about a software engineer? Most probably you might be thinking that a software engineer is highly paid person and living a rich and enjoying life. But actually the truth is very different form that. I’m confident on saying that as I’m a software engineer myself. You might not believe what I explain in the following paragraphs of this post. But if you ask it from a software engineer, he or she will definitely give the same answer.

It is true that a software engineer is a highly paid person compared to other professionals in the same level in any country. But apart from the money he or she earns, it is a very small amount of time that a software engineer has for fun, be with loved ones, go for a vacation etc. A software engineer is like a robot who is working at least 10 to 12 hours per day. He or she doesn’t even have a time to have a good meal. Most often they are working with a huge mental pressure and stress. Software engineers are the best handlers of mental pressure and stress. They are very good with technical stuff but most of them are poor in general life stuff (I’m good with both by the way :-)). I just want to prove that from the letter added below.

This letter was published in the blog http://rakesh.in/2006/11/20/love-of-a-software-engineer/ . The blog author says that this is a true love letter written by one of his friend. I believe that this is a true love letter. So have a look at it and see how it proves my idea mentioned above.

I woke up in the morning to find every bit in my body waiting to be with you. It has been a very long wait for today. Although my heart has only your image, my brain has split itself into many threads each executing only your command.

I remember the first day we met. Our hearts reached consensus without any external memory. I was a dangling pointer containing your address but no ownership over you. As I tried to deference the location, I crashed. There were not one but many clients trying to connect to you. But this did not deter me. I relentlessly tried to reach you. My messages to you were sent through different routers but they were all prevented from reaching you. All my SYN packets were dropped. When finally I decided to close my connection, I received your ACK. The very thought of being preempted made my heart bloom like the heat generated by a million processors all in busy-wait. When you saw me you realized that I was not a spurious host. I was a trusted source as I was linearly separable from the rest.

But when our class separation decreased I saw more distinct features. However, I could neither decode your enciphered smile nor track your mosaiced lips. Your gaze brought me to your frontal view nullifying my external parameters. I stared at you as thousands of thoughts enqued in my memory waiting to be dequeued. No amount of data mining could have extracted the three simple words that you said to me then. Within no time, all my thoughts automatically dequeued. Those evergreen images registered in my mind instantly even though infinite amount of images would have been impossible to reconstruct the scene. It is on this day last year that we first met. My memory of the day has never got corrupted and when I think about you I also think about the first time that I met you. Compile me into you and I promise to link with you. I will load both your sorrows and happinessequally all my life.

Actually a software engineer’s personal life is in a very dangerous situation if his loved ones can’t understand his or her mind set, his duties and responsibilities. You might be a wife, husband or a child of a software engineer. If so please try to understand the situation that software engineer lives with. A software engineer is always working hard to deliver a software release on time. Almost about 100% of them do that on time. To make this a success he or she will need to work hard by using the time planned to be with the loved ones or to enjoy. Most of the software engineers do this to make their loved ones happier. This is a must that anyone should understand who has a software engineer in his or her family.

I thought to write this post due to a posted question I saw in a forum. A woman has asked from the forum about a spyware that she can detect and record her husband’s internet usage including recording of all his chats, blog posts and forum discussions. She asked for a spyware which can do all the above mentioned things. The reason is that she knows that her husband chat with his ex girl friends and new girls.

It is not possible and required to put rules on anyone’s internet usage. But the person who uses his or her freedom to surf the internet must be aware of the things that he/she should do and he/she shouldn’t do. Otherwise you will get into trouble with rising personal problems from your family, girl friend or boy friend. As the world has many cultures, the way someone sees the usage of the internet differs from another one. Therefore no one can argue on these kinds of stuffs related to the internet. The only one who can realize and use the internet which will not affect your personal lifestyle is you. You have to decide on what you should do and what you shouldn’t do.

Whenever you use a chat service, a forum, a blog or any other service related to the internet, think twice whether this will affect your personal life. If you are married or having a relationship with a girl/boy friend, it is better if you can have an understanding about your partner’s feelings and the way he/she thinks. And make sure that he/she knows your feelings and the way you think also. By doing this, I personally feel that you will be able to reduce the problems arising with your internet usage.
