Internet is like an ocean where you will find all sorts of culprits like pirates, mafia people and smugglers. A general person, who is new or not aware about it, will get into trouble when they meet these culprits and make connections with them. I mainly focus on revealing those kinds of scams to you all to save your hardly earned money and protect your personal life style from those culprits. That’s why I chose the domain name as “best-internet-guide.com”. In this I will explain about another way of a scam. It is called an automated online money making system.

You might have come a cross websites which says that they have discovered an online money making system which automates all the work you need to do and they promise a six figure (number of figures might be slightly different :-) ) income per month. They say that you will not have to do anything and what you will have to do is just buy their system and install it, have fun with your family and the promised number of figure income will flow. You will see more than 10 testimonials of the people in the website who bought their package with attractive family photos background surrounded by luxury things like big apartments, vehicles, farms, high priced vacation tours, etc. Normally these websites maintain a very attractive and proving tone of language. And the amount you have to pay is always under $ 100. They also say that their system is distributed to others as they want to see all the people around the world are getting rich with their automated system. Some websites show discounted prices for few hours. Some asks for referral codes. By seeing this all, you will believe what they say. But to tell you the truth all of these are not real. I say this due to the reasons explained below.

If these people have actually found a system like this, they will never reveal it to others. What they will do is finding more and more ways to improve it and find more profits.

Let’s assume that these people are thinking in a socialist pattern (They say that they want to see all of us get rich with their system. That is why they distribute it). Then if they have really found this system, they will not sell this system. They will distribute it freely for the sake of other people.

Let’s assume that they have really found the system and they don’t like to freely distribute it. Do you think that they will sell this system to a price less than $ 100, which they promise a six figure income per month? NO. I don’t think so. If they sell it, it will be priced to an amount which will be greater than the Warren Buffet’s assets or may be combined assets of him and Bill Gates :-) .

Most of these online systems they sell are a bunch of newly created websites which falls into different niches. All of those websites are furnished with latest advertising systems and traffic generating systems. To tell you the truth the amount of websites doesn’t make any sense if you are really keen on finding some money on the internet. A one website is enough for that to start with. But you have to work hard with it to make it a high ranked one. You can’t automate all the processes related to the improvement of your website. You have to look after it like a small baby. You have to make right decisions at right time. You have to invest on it. You have to change with the emerging technologies if you want to survive in this field. You might say that the providers of this system also take care about it. But actually if they do that, you will definitely have to pay much more than what they ask to pay for the system.

I hope that the factors I mentioned above will make you to think twice before you buy this kind of an automated online money making system. If I could do that, I think that this post was an important one to you.

Most of our traditional ways of living are being replaced by the internet every day. We do banking, shopping, ticket booking, hotels booking, dating, making friends and many more through the internet which we used to do in the traditional way. With the evolution of the web technology, we have the facility to learn things online, do courses; you can even get a degree online. But similar to all other things done in internet, there are many fake websites pretending that they offer the best online courses and degrees. Many people lose their money by following these fake courses without any knowledge gain from it. I will explain some important facts that you must consider when planning to follow an online degree or course.

Before everything you must find out whether the course material contains the things that you really want to learn. Before making the final decision on the particular website, it is better to find few other websites or institutions offering same material. And you must also find out about the history of that organization. If you simply type the name and do a Google search, you will find some information on that. Sometimes you may find comments of the past students or teachers. This is a very important thing you must do before selecting the particular website.

Don’t always go for the cheaper place. Because there is a great chance that the quality of that website is lower compared to the websites having higher course fees. It is better to go for a medium priced course if you are considering about the cost. Another very important thing is to consider is the way the courses are conducted and what special facilities you require to follow the course are. If it costs more than to follow the same course or degree in the traditional way, there is no point of going for an online course if the traditional course provider is not far away from your place.

You must also consider about the advisory and learning consultation they provide. Otherwise you find it is hard to follow and complete the course even though it is a well reputed one. Most of these online courses and degrees must provide mock exams in the same way that you face the real exam. Check whether those mock exams are available. You must also find out whether you can follow the course in balance with the general daily tasks that you do.

If you are confident with the above mentioned factors, the risk you face will be very less and you will complete the course or degree successfully. I wish you good luck on you future online education!

I was wandering what to post today. When I was thinking about the topic, I received another interesting email to my admin email address of this blog. That email is added below. Read it carefully.

From: CitiBusiness [mailto:csupport.id26701-9565967340CBF@citibank.com]
Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2008 8:03 PM
To: Admin
Subject: CitiBusiness: please update your data.

Dear CitiBusiness customer,

CitiBusiness new Scheduled Maintenance Program protects your data from unauthorized access. CitiBusiness Online Form is important addition to our scheduled maintenance program.
Please use the link below to access CitiBusiness Online Form:

CitiBusiness Online Form

Please do not reply to this auto-generated email. Follow instructions above.

When you read this, you will get an idea that the real Citi bank customer service has written this. You will definitely click the link and impatiently wait until the web page loads. I don’t have any connection with the citi bank. Therefore I suspected that this is a scam. What I did was, I checked the URL in the link given in the email I received. Here it is and have a close look at it. Check whether you notice anything.

http://citibusiness.citibank.com.losao1.es/businessdir/cbof/start.do/

?ref=89359052406999261772635660432086023000757642467292293

1377109&session=7632008

You won’t notice much difference most probably. Because you will see the first few words as http://citibusiness.citibank.com and you will ignore the rest and continue with the instruction in the web page that you will see next. But if you have a closer look at it, you’ll find that the web address ends with .es (Not the whole URL). The web address is highlighted below.

http://citibusiness.citibank.com.losao1.es/businessdir/cbof/start.do/

?ref=89359052406999261772635660432086023000757642467292293

This is not the real web address of Citi bank. I have given the real web address beow.

http://www.citibank.com/us/index.htm

The people who are behind this scam are more intelligent than the PayPal scam I explained in an earlier post. Because they have used the citibank.com part in their web address as a sub domain. The actual web address is losao1.es which is a web address of Spain. When you click the URL in the email, you will be directed to a page like below.

You won’t think that this page is not an original one when you see it. I’m not quite sure about the Citi bank business code. If it is something important and confidential like a credit card number and if you have a code, you will definitely enter it. Then they have your id and they can use it for their evil intentions. I just put a random number with an English letter and hit enter.

There was no error given and directed to another page. Therefore I feel that there is no much usage of pirating this id. The next page I saw is given below.

It is a login form and I entered random values again. No error was thrown and I was directed to another page as shown below.

The details you have to enter here must be important to these people. Because a normal user will enter their real data believing that this is a real. The people who are behind this scam most probably contact you by using the details provided in this form and definitely ask for financial data like account number, pin number and credit card details. They will give you a good excuse for it like upgrade of the system. If you do this, you are doomed.

As I did earlier, I added random values and clicked “Confirm” button. Then a popup message box was shown as below.

If you look carefully, you will see the above mentioned fake Citi bank web address in the title of the message box. The only truth they have told, I could find here. When I clicked “OK” I was directed to the real Citi bank website. So I’m pretty confident that their needed information was in the form I mentioned above.

If you have a Citi bank id, you will definitely put your real data in that form and there is a very good chance that you will be caught into trouble. What I wanted to emphasis by revealing this scam is to ask you to be more careful when you receive these kinds of emails. Any bank or other monetary organization won’t ask your private details in a way like this. Therefore you must inquire about this from the real business entity. And you must also carefully examine the URLs given in the email and data validation in the pages you will be directed after clicking that link. By doing this you will be able to get rid off from your worst nightmares.
